Evvel zaman içinde, kalbur saman içinde bir ormanın yanında geniş bir ova varmış. Orada binlerce bitki binlerce kuş bir arada yaşarmış. İşte minik kuş da onlardan biriymiş. Yaşadığı yer öylesine güzelmiş ki, minik kuş burası düşler ülkesi olmaı diye düşünür, mutluluğundan cıvıl cıvıl cıvıldaşırmış. Hele bir de kış aylarının soğuğu olmasaymış belki de dünyanın en mutlu kuşu olurmuş. Ama günlerden bir gün minik kuşun bütün neşesini yok eden bir olay olmuş olmuş. Yaramaz, hain bir çocuk sapanı ile gelip oraya, buraya taşlara atmaya başlamış. İşte bu taşlardan biri de minik kuşun kanadında çarpmış. Minik kuş acıdan cik cik diye bağırarak sonra atmış kendini çiçeğin dibine. Ama çiçekte hainin biriymiş. -Çabuk git buradan dallarımı incitebilirsin… Öfff.. rengine de ne kadar çirkin senin..! diye bağırınca minik kuş seke seke başka bir çiçeğin dibine konuş. Ama o da istemem onu. Minik kuş ne yapsın şimdi… Bu yaralı kanatla nereye gitsin.. işte tam o sırada ormandaki ağaçlar…
